Pre-Purim at the Raggedys

It's been a busy week here at the Raggedys, getting ready for the hectic, sticky fun that is Purim. Above are some of Ann's Purim projects from school.

Aside from trying to kick my cold-cough-etc., I've been cooking ahead for the Purim Seudah, finishing up Mishloach Manot, and hemming Ann's costume.

Also, I've been having fun laughing about how much RaggedyDad seems to like that weird Ford The Edge(uh) commercial.

Here are some photos from this week:
Our cakes for Mishloach Manot (the other nearly 20 are crammed into the freezer -these are for Ann's teachers and some other people at her school). These are giong out along with a mini grape juice bottle.

Some shots of our early morning hamentasch-baking adventure before Ann went to preschool

And finally, some meat-filled borekas for the seudah appetizer. Yum! And yawn! Good night!

Hi! Can I PLEASE have your recipe for meat-filled borekas???? We are all sick here with sinus colds/infections so i don't know how we are going to be ready!

Awww...Ann's projects are SO CUTE!

YUM! Your hamentashen look so much yummier than mine!

Looks like you have been quite busy. You are a far better woman than I am...with the cold-cough I have, our Mishloach Manot look pretty puny. Yours look like feasts!

Shabbat Shalom and Purim Sameach.

Everything looks great, but the borekas are making my mouth water. Yum. Yum. Yum. Think I will add borekas to my Friday night menu.

Your hamentaschen really look like they turned out well. We had a few casulties.

Mother of Israel-For my meat borekas, I just brown ground meat with onion and garlic and add cumin.

Mother of Israel - I wasn't sure how to email you, so I left my basic recipe as a comment on your latest post.

Oriyenta - Thanks! And I hope you're feeling better by now!

SWFM - Thanks, sounds like we both had a nice one this year!

Mother in Israel - LOL! I'll be sure to post pictures of my more disastrous cooking efforts and level the playing field ;)

SL - There's always cumin involved, isn't there! And the casualty hamentaschen are the ones we taste while they're barely cooled off!
